Bought a book for a nickel. Found a pressed flower, half a train ticket, and a map tucked inside. Man at the shop said the map led to a fortune. Asked why he was still selling books.
Followed it anyway. Found a hollow tree with six cents and a thumb in it. A cent up, not counting the afternoon.
Hosea asked whether I’d learned anything. Told him the book wasn’t bad.
